From the composer: A trip to Southern India was an inspiration to me, having met some wonderful people and visited impressive shrines and temples. One narrative by an anonymous writer was scribbled on some paper left at the door of the Church of St Thomas in Chennai. In response to these words and in dedication to my friend Sarah Jobson, I composed this contemplative piece.
Originally intended for baritone saxophone & piano, this contemplative and challenging elegy can be performed on any Eb saxophone.
The E-Edition PDF bundle comes with an Eb saxophone part and piano accompaniment.
“You are the Chalice” is also available in hard-copy from June Emerson Wind Music.
