Iconic Sonata

From the composer:
“Iconic Sonata is so called since the music refers to some of the most iconic players of the tenor saxophone in jazz history. The sound world, licks, turn of phrase and emotional content of these players have inspired me for many years, and with affection and respect to them this is a gentle challenge to performers to decipher the personalities behind the music.”

Iconic Sonata was premiered by Tim Watts (piano) and Jeffery Wilson (tenor saxophone) on the 8th February 2010 at the Purcell Room.

The PDF E-Edition comes with a Bb saxophone part and the piano accompaniment.
