Sonny’s Calypso

From the composer:
“This piece was written for Saxology for a gig on 7th September. This happened to be the birthday of that tremendous tenor player Sonny Rollins, so I penned a vehicle for improvisation as a respectful dedication to the great musician. The written out solo borrows from some of his licks and tricks when in a Caribbean mood.”

The PDF E-Edition includes a score and the following parts:

Soprano Saxophone
Alto Saxophone
Tenor Saxophone
Baritone Saxophone

“Sonny’s Calypso” is also available in printed edition from June Emerson Wind Music.
