Description

This collection of Shetland reels was originally arranged by Jan Steele, a founder member of the saxophone ensemble, Saxtet. He transcribed them from a guitar performance, although traditionally they would have been played on the fiddle.

The original saxophone quartet version was regularly used by Saxtet as a rousing concert-closer and encore, requiring massive amounts of stamina and plenty of self-control to avoid getting carried away too quickly!

This version has been arranged especially for clarinet ensemble by founder member of Saxtet and now Director of the Bournville Clarinet Choir, Nigel Wood.
