Three short and fun pieces for soprano & baritone saxophone! These pieces are ideal for anyone looking to improve their doubling skills on both soprano and baritone saxophone. Both parts use the full ranges of the instruments with some tricky passages to get stuck into.

The PDF E-Edition bundle comes with a score for soprano & baritone saxophones, and minus-one MP3 play-along tracks for both parts.

  1. The Tortoise and The Hare
A movement of contrasts – fast paced action from the hare set against a jazzy interlude from the tortoise, underpinned by a lolloping bass line.
  2. Inside Out
This movement experiments with the different timbres created by the soprano and baritone saxes at the extremes of their registers. Excellent for practising a legato sound in the high register of the baritone and for creating a rich sound at the bottom of the soprano.
  3. Double or Quits
A wild jazz-infused dance in which the soprano gets to enjoy itself on top of the baritone’s groove. The baritone player isn’t forgotten, however, and also gets it’s turn to take a solo!

“Three Miniatures” is also available in hard-copy from June Emerson Wind Music.
