Fireshapes

From the composer:
Fireshapes for two clarinets was composed in 2012 while I was living in London, UK.The work received its first performance by the Texas New Music Ensemble at their debut concert in Houston, TX on August 23rd, 2014.There is a kind of flickering heard throughout much of the work that often builds into larger, more defined “shapes” before vanishing again – similar to what one sees when peering closely into a fire.

Fireshapes is in 8 movements, with movements 1-5  for two Bb clarinets, and movements 6-8 for Bb clarinet and Bb bass clarinet. All movements can however be performed by two Bb clarinets or 2 Bb bass clarinets.

The PDF E-Edition comes with a playing score for two equal clarinets.
