Ballad, Classical, Jazz
Devotional and lyrical piece with a jazz tinge.
Buttall, Philip R
Bb Clarinet & Piano
4 minutes

“Eclogue” was originally conceived as a devotional piece for flugelhorn (or trumpet) and organ in 2002. In this version the saxophone adds a jazz tinge and players can opt to play their own improvised solo or the suggested improvised solo written by Nigel Wood.

The E-Edition PDF bundle comes with a Bb clarinet part and piano accompaniment.

“Eclogue” is included in the following exam syllabus:

TCL Jazz Clarinet – Grade 5 – valid from November 2022 (without optional solo)

Please check the latest exam syllabi for updates and amendments.

“Eclogue” is also available in hard-copy from June Emerson Wind Music.

A beautiful piece that I used as a meditation in a church service. Used an Akai EWIUSB in place of the soprillo. Easy and melodic, your audience will enjoy this.
