Description

This is an arrangement of the alto aria, “Erbarme dich mein Gott” from J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. It comes just after Peter has denied Christ and is charged with bitter regret and weeping. So, although it is not particularly demanding technically, the performer has to understand the emotion and be able to sustain it through the long, intensely lyrical lines.
