About the Composer

David plays flute and sax and performs music from the Baroque era through to jazz and contemporary music.
He studied flute with Averil Williams, Gareth Lockrane and the Brazilian flautist Daniel Allain. He plays regularly with many well-known musicians. His recordings include Meantime, with a quintet co-led by David and Ray Guntrip, Dedications, an album of compositions by Inigo Kilborn featuring John Horler, Max Brittan, Oly Kilborn and Alec Dankworth, Where did you get those shoes? with Inigo Kilborn sextet, and Waiting for the Thunder, a collaboration with singer-songwriter Thomas Barnes. He also played on Mood in Blue, the last album recorded by Tina May.
He was a member of the Jazz Flute Big Band that performed in the 2016 London Jazz Festival.
David is also a music photographer who has exhibited in London and has published two albums of portraits of musicians: The Look of Jazz, and Jumpin’ at the Junction.
