From the composer: “Tánc! is a lively piece meant for dancing! Tánc means dance in Hungarian and this piece is inspired by a visit to Budapest and a festival that was happening at the time. The sultry middle section is a pause for two of the characters in the dance to spot each other and have a final slow dance, as if all the other character have frozen, before the jollity and festivities take over again.” This work can be performed with as few as 8 saxophones, but works best with the “optional but preferable” parts, bigger is most definitely better with Tánc! With these extra parts and the alternative parts, Tánc! can be performed with as many as 13 individual parts on 16 individual saxophones. The E-Edition PDF bundle comes with a score and the following parts:Standard parts Soprano Saxophone 1 Soprano Saxophone 2 (alternative to Alto Saxophone 4) Alto Saxophone 1 Alto Saxophone 2 Tenor Saxophone 1 (alternative to Alto Saxophone 5) Tenor Saxophone 2 Baritone Saxophone 1 (alternative to Tenor Saxophone 4) Baritone Saxophone 2Optional but preferable parts Sopranino Saxophone Soprano Saxophone 3 Alto Saxophone 3 Tenor Saxophone 3 Bass SaxophoneAlternative parts Alto Saxophone 4 (alternative to Soprano Saxophone 2) Alto Saxophone 5 (alternative to Tenor Saxophone 1) Tenor Saxophone 4 (alternative to Baritone Saxophone 1)
