Description

From the composer: “Tanć! is a lively piece meant for dancing! Tanć means dance in Hungarian and this piece is inspired by a visit to Budapest and a festival that was happening at the time. The sultry middle section is a pause for two of the characters in the dance to spot each other and have a final slow dance, as if all the other character have frozen, before the jollity and festivities take over again.”

This work can be performed with as few as 8 saxophones, but works best with the “optional but preferable” parts, bigger is most definitely better with Tánc! With these extra parts and the alternative parts, Tánc! can be performed with as many as 16 individual parts.
