Description

This collection of Shetland reels was originally arranged by Jan Steele, a founder member of the saxophone ensemble, Saxtet. He transcribed them from a guitar performance, although traditionally they would have been played on the fiddle.

The original saxophone quartet version was regularly used by Saxtet as a rousing concert-closer and encore, requiring massive amounts of stamina and plenty of self-control to avoid getting carried away too quickly!

This version was specially arranged by Nigel Wood for the National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain, but features a range of mixed ability level parts to suit all types of saxophone ensemble.

The E-Edition PDF bundle comes with the following parts:

Standard parts
Soprano Saxophone (alternative to Sopranino Saxophone)
Alto Saxophone 1 (advanced)
Alto Saxophone 2 (moderate)
Alto Saxophone 3 (easy)
Tenor Saxophone 1 (advanced)
Tenor Saxophone 2 (moderate)
Tenor Saxophone 3 (easy)
Baritone Saxophone
Bass Saxophone

Alternative & optional parts
Sopranino Saxophone (optional & alternative to Soprano Saxophone)
