“Danse des Sauvages” is from the final entrĂ©e from Rameau’s opĂ©ra-ballet “Les Indes galantes” (“The Amorous Indies”), first performed in the Palais-Royale in Paris on 23rd August 1735.  The music sets the scene: the stage showing a grove in a forest in America, on the borders of the French and Spanish colonies, where the ceremony of the Peace Pipe is about to be celebrated.

This arrangement is scored for a minimum of 9 saxophones, but comes with additional optional and alternative parts for larger saxophone ensembles.
