saxophone trio edition

Composed by: GF Handel
Arranged by: Claire Tomsett
Genres: Baroque, Classical

Reviews

This arrangement can be played by many configurations of soprano, alto, tenor or baritone and is of intermediate difficulty. The contrapuntal and canonic nature of Handel's compositions makes this trio a great piece to work on ensemble interaction, phrasing, articulation and matching each other as a unit. The dynamics are not entirely true to baroque music, with gradation of tone throughout most phrases. However, this allows the group to develop their dynamic control together and the editor's note does state it can be played at the performer's discretion. Players would need to be at least grade five standard to tackle this arrangement, in which I am sure they will find many corners to improve and enjoy.
